Apply to be a New Voices Mentor Today!
The New Voices Mentorship role is to advise and inspire. You are helping to shape budding entrepreneurs and innovators.
Graduate Students will become “New Voices Mentors” and serve as an advisor to Avenues student leaders. Together you’ll attend the conference and on day 2, you and others from the general audience, will begin work on a design challenge team.
How It Works
Together on day 2 of the conference, you and your mentee will take the lead on tackling a challenge that a select Pro-Partner faces. A team of 4-5 other people from the general audience will join you to ideate!
Beyond the conference you’ll serve as a mentor, checking in with your mentee, answering any questions, providing any helpful resources, etc. You will use this as a chance to reflect on everything you’re learning in school— what lessons can you impart to them?
Avenues Student leaders and their New Voices Mentors will continue to work on the challenge in two workshops during the second semester. Students will have the opportunity to further build their idea using creative strategies to solve real-world challenges.
Throughout 2nd semester Mentors are expected to have 1-2 check in meetings with their mentee each month. They will also be expected to attend 3 half day workshops between February – May 2015.
